Development 65 (D65) is based in Minneapolis, MN. Specializing in senior living and multifamily projects, we create value for residents, investors, and the communities in which we build our projects.
Our team carefully plans each project with attention to detail and respect for local environments. From the selection of our sites to assembly of the best-in-field professionals, Development 65’s success rests upon our ability to effectively coordinate interrelated activities with efficiency. Each member of our team is selected to bring maximum value to every project We ensure the best possible outcomes by continually challenging our planning, assumptions, and research.
D65 has developed a 200,000+ square foot, 166 unit senior living facility in Bloomington, Minnesota. Construction will begin in July 2021 on its 178,000 square foot, 135 unit senior living in St. Anthony. We also have over 400,000+ square feet in pre-development phase.
With our team of proven professionals and a robust body of research and vetting, we are able to offer above average returns to our investors.

Robert Zakheim
Principal
Zakheim is the Principal of Development 65 and serves as its President.
He has applied his business, organizational and financial skills into a multitude of successful, broad ranging real estate endeavors including: land development, facility acquisition, full facility renovations, project leasing and marketing, real estate financing, project development (entitlements, construction bid negotiations, oversight, and project management).
His efforts have also included the acquisition and development of over 400,000 square feet of commercial properties, multiple land development projects. He is an active partner in several residential projects throughout the country, with a primary focus in Minnesota.
Mr. Zakheim has built a successful portfolio of real estate assets. With his proven experience and knowledge of market changes, Zakheim chose to focus the efforts of Development 65 on the development of senior living facilities. With the objective of developing sustainable and successful senior care independent and assisted living facilities, Development 65 seeks out potential opportunities, acquires land and develops projects from the ground up or rehabilitates structures into best-in-class senior living facilities.
Zakheim attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and then transferred to the University of Minnesota.
A native of Minneapolis, Zakheim currently resides in Minnetonka, MN with his wife. He has two daughters.
Robert Wall
Principal
Wall has over fourteen years experience as a real estate professional and leads Development 65’s project developments.
He sources, evaluates and analyzes real estate development opportunities, works to develop the business plan for each project, builds a team around each project, and drives efforts to implement the company’s overall business strategy.
After a project has been selected, Wall works with all team members to execute the company’s timeline and secure financing from investors.
He brings a strong expertise in commercial real estate, development, and real estate finance to Development 65’s team. He has co-developed numerous multifamily and medical office real estate projects in Minnesota and California, as well as consulted for business operators managing large real estate components. He has been involved in the development or rehabilitation of over one thousand residential units.
Wall is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, holds a law degree from Tulane Law School and an MBA in finance from the Tulane University's Freeman School of Business.
